I thought it was absolutely awful. Sci fi is my favorite genre, but come on, a movie must be judged as a movie. First there's writing: plot, dialog, action; three strikes you're out. The director had a writing credit, so he's out too. The actor's don't get a fair shot. It amazes me that a sequel was made. 9/10 as worst sci fi movie. If you want to see a 10/10 try to sit through Primer.

An absolutely amazing look into the human psyche. I love how this movie isn't exactly about being trapped in a huge cube with traps. There's so much more than that and a huge hint is that you never see what's outside the cube. This is a look into the mind, what certain people do in a certain situation. How the mind bends, stretches and finally snaps. Incredible movie.

Probably an excellent one to use as a teaching aide for an Absurdist task- as the movie is an excellent example of an absurdist text. Probably not the best for acting or even scripted dialogue, however. Very chunky in parts. But very good to analyse philosophically. So, as a movie? Terrible. But as a "text"? Pretty good.

This movie is great. I mean for the little resources the filmmakers had, it turned out quite good. The sequels only make the franchise better.

Whenever I read scripts I usually facepalm at grammatical errors and typographical mistakes. But in some cases, it just makes me shut down. This was one of those cases. By the end of the first paragraph there were more errors in this script than I have found in the entirety of ANY OTHER SCRIPT I HAVE READ. I am unsure if this is in the transcription by a user, or happened by the folks who put it up on this site, or whether the script writer really is an illiterate ignorant derp; but one thing is certain, this is no reflection on the film as the film was a pretty compelling and avant garde movie. It had that wanky hip art house feel but a production quality usually lacking in such films. Although now that I've said that, perhaps I should stand by that as a criticism, as the second artsy types thinks a film is 'groovy'--or any number of rebirthed anachronistic words hipsters use--it immediately becomes woefully lame and something no heterosexual man should ever watch. There was a bit too much gore in the film than required, I don't say this because I'm conservative or politically correct, I just believe that splatter films are splatter films because they've run out of script, but most importantly, when you go over the top with gore special effects unless you've got a billion dollar production house backing you it will inevitably look corny and you'll just drop the ball with effects that aren't executed properly, etc. Keeping it simple and compelling means less of a chance to mess things up. There were a few death scenes where the CGI was absolutely dreadful, where alluded violence, or a greater distance of the fourth wall would have been possible alternatives to execute the same scene without revealing shoddy effects. The problem is in these situations the film makers always think their effects will be AWESOME and add to the film. Often I wonder how the hell some of these things get signed off on because you just know every step of the way dozens of people had to agree yep, this looks real, and great, and awesome, let's use it. Then you watch it and think wow that was absolutely terrible, you can see the frame where they substituted the guy for a dummy! Oh well. Great film. Dreadful script. Editor reviewing this post; please consider reporting this script as needing a replacement, unless the original actually was written by illiterate ignorant derps as mentioned. In which case perhaps on the splash page you should add that all errors are part of the script and not just bad transcription. Where the hood, where the hood, where the hood at?

This is not the actual script for the movie. There are so many typos that I couldn't believe that this was professionally written. There was missing info, like the characters reacting to something Kazan was doing, but no description of what it was. Not a lot of actions or interiors described. This looks like someone watched the movie and just halfassed a scriptlike document from it. There are parts where the words do not form coherent sentences.
